About ELEVATEcee

Launched in October 2025, ELEVATEcee unites national and regional stakeholders from the quadruple helix to identify and develop complete hydrogen value chains – from energy generation and hydrogen production to transport, storage, and end-use applications.

In the context of the project, 3 different Working Conferences will be organised to present project results and enable hands-on collaboration through breakout sessions, directly contributing to the project’s objectives of developing joint value chains, investment-ready projects, and cross-border business creation.

About the Working Conference#2

The ELEVATEcee Working Conference#2 in Győr is the second of three working conferences in 12 months and brings together innovative companies, project developers, public stakeholders, and industry experts to accelerate the development of cross-border green hydrogen projects in Central and Eastern Europe.

The event is designed as a hands-on, working platform that goes beyond presentations by actively fostering collaboration and project creation. Building on the outcomes of the Vienna Working Conference#1, participants will review progress, explore the latest trends in the green hydrogen economy, and identify new opportunities for cooperation—particularly in areas such as public transport and district heating.

In the afternoon the conference will split into three streams: New ideas and pitches, Project development in progress and Decarbonisation skills development.

Detailed Information and Background

Across Austria, Slovakia and Hungary, hydrogen and green molecules projects are progressing from early concepts to pilots, scale-ups and infrastructure planning. Yet, cross-border visibility of concrete initiatives and structured partnering formats remain limited.
The first Working Conference#1  provided a forum for presenting the current status in each country, discussing these findings with one another and with stakeholders, and identifying key priorities. The surveys provide a suitable starting point for the second Working Conference#2  which will focus on comparing barriers and opportunities across countries.

ElevateCEE implements three Working Conferences within the next 12 months (Working Conferences #2 in Györ and #3: location tba.).

Working Conference #1

Conference in Vienna (Vienna) focuses on building consortia around pitched projects and defining collaboration needs.

Working Conference #2

Conference in Györ strengthens and expands these consortia (and can also form new ones), adding missing competences and sharpening project structures.

Working Conference #3

This Conference is designed to work with more mature project concepts, integrating investor and financier feedback and preparing the next maturity step.

Main objective

Following the first Working Conference#1 focus on mutual understanding, coordination, and the initial collection of key documents regarding the current status, the main objective of the Working Conference#2 will be to focus on problem-solving through a cross-country discussion.

In preparation, the participating countries will answer questions based on the data already collected and the experiences from Working Conference#1. The goal is to identify those areas that are particularly well-suited for a cross-country comparison in order to further develop the hydrogen value chain and promote cooperation. During the workshop, the results of the questions will be discussed together. The focus will be particularly on barriers, opportunities, and solutions: Where do challenges in cooperation exist, where might friction arise, and in which areas is there great potential for simple and effective cooperation?

Who should participate?

Public authorities and institutional stakeholders who are:

  • Project owners (start-ups, SMEs, industrial companies, research organisations) with project concepts seeking partners and/or financing pathways
  • Industrial offtakers, technology providers, infrastructure operators, utilities, cluster organisations
  • Responsible for or owners of hydrogen strategies and hydrogen national and regional action plans
  • Key authorities for permitting and regulatory processes
  • Relevant actors for funding alignment and public support schemes
