ERIG Workgroup Summit 2025 in Brussels – shaping the Future of Energy
From 30 June to 1 July 2025, the European gas and energy innovation community gathered at the Double Tree by Hilton in Brussels for the ERIG Workgroup Summit 2025.
This year’s summit brought together the ERIG Topic Groups – including
- Smart Energy Systems and
- Renewable & Decarbonised Gas and formed the new groups
- Regional Clusters,
- Liquid Hydrogen and
- CCUS
– for two days of strategic exchange, collaborative workshops, and forward-looking discussions on Europe’s energy transition.
The agenda included:
- Topic Group Sessions to align on research priorities and project synergies
- Mixed Tables to foster cross-disciplinary dialogue
- Regional Perspectives to highlight national and local innovation efforts
- and of course, a shared networking dinner on 30 June to deepen connections across the ERIG network
The moderators of the five groups were

In addition to the expert discussions and fruitful workshops, the evening dinner and informal breaks offered the opportunity to get to know each other better and make new connections.
It was great to see so many committed experts from all over Europe confirmed their attendance and made the long journey to Brussles to be part of this event.
